Located on the coast of the Province of Chubut, the Patagonia Azul Project plays a fundamental role in the preservation of the biological diversity of the Argentinean Sea. Its mission is to broaden the protection and restoration of marine ecosystems, while promoting a restorative economy through marine tourism and regenerative production.

The coasts shores of Patagonia Azul extend into one of the richest wildlife areas of the Argentinean Sea. The coastal-marine area, located between the cities of Comodoro Rivadavia and Rawson, is home to more than sixty protected islands and bays. These ecosystems are vital for numerous species of birds and marine mammals, which find a place for feeding, reproduction, and nesting in this environment.

Ruta Azul (RP1) spans over 450 kilometers along spectacular coastal landscapes resulting from particular regional geological processes. The journey between Comodoro Rivadavia and Rawson passes through two authentic towns, four public access portals, two historical landmarks and four natural areas protected by the province.

The region offers a unique opportunity to implement a multidimensional conservation and local development project. In this project, the inhabitants of the region will generate a common vision to achieve greater legal protection for Patagonia Azul and turn it into a destination with a brand and identity rooted in nature and culture, promoting a diversified and regenerative economy.
