Patagonia Azul is a paradise for marine and coastal birdwatchers. Portal Isla Leones offers long coastal trails with breathtaking views along different beaches and coves. From the viewpoints, you can spot whale spouts, giant petrels and even albatrosses flying.
The network of hiking trails is designed along the most spectacular spots and offers a wide variety of options. Some trails are unmarked, and they will take you to different viewpoints, such as Mirador 360º (40 min) or Mirador de la Cueva del Puma (20 min), which are of easy-medium difficulty for those who want to admire unique landscapes.
Another longer trail is Cañadón de la Costa, which is 8 km long and can be covered in half a day. It reaches a gorge and a cutwater. This trail has a medium-high difficulty level.

The network of trails has different lengths and difficulties depending on the land, and it is designed to take you to the most spectacular viewpoints of the park. Snorkeling

In the intertidal zone in front of the glamping, where we recommend snorkeling, you will find marine animals of all kinds. In the calm waters of Bahía Arredondo Bay, you will be able to observe impressive kelp forests. On the pebble beaches on the way to Cueva del Puma you will find starfish, crabs and colorful anemones. In all cases, snorkeling is done from the shore, masks are provided at Glamping Isla Leones and the use of life jackets is mandatory.

The boat trip to Isla Leones is the culminating point of Patagonia Azul: passing through dazzling bays and coves, witnessing an incredible variety of wildlife on the islands, spotting whales, dolphins and common bottlenose dolphins accompanied by seabirds flying just above the sea. After visiting the legendary lighthouse in Isla Leones and enjoying a picnic on the beach, the tour continues to an impressive geological feature called "Caleta Hornos". Horseback Riding

Patagonian horseback riding is one of the most requested experiences in the world. In this region you can ride into the desert beaches, bays, and coves to discover the rock formations and remains eroded by the sea.
You can choose among three options:
- Two-hour (12 km) ride from the main Patagonia Azul Interpretation Center, along the white sandy coastline to Camping Arroyo Marea, accompanied by a large number of shorebirds in your way to and from the corrals.
- Six-hour (22 km) from the Interpretation Center up to Punta Ezquerra, the farthest point where you can observe rocky formations and islands that are covered and uncovered by the tide. It includes picnic to enjoy this magical place and return through the steppe to the corrals.
- Eight-hour (35 km) expedition from the Interpretation Center to Estancia San Miguel with picnic lunch included. This is a full day horseback adventure along the stunning coastline between Bustamante Bay Gate and Estancia San Miguel. Please contact us to arrange logistics for this adventure.
* Eight-hour expedition requires a minimum group of 4 people and a maximum of 10 people with previous horseback riding experience.
